Jennifer Crumbley of Michigan is the first US parent convicted of manslaughter, over a mass shooting carried out by their child in 2021.
Her husband will go on trial on the same charges next month.
CBS's Elaine Quijano says the defence argued Crumbley wasn't a criminal.
But prosecutors said she was an inattentive mother -- who didn't get her son help for his declining mental health.
