Use of puberty blockers to treat children's gender dysphoria, is currently under-researched

An NHS review has found weak evidence about the use and effects of the hormone medications, which delay the onset of puberty.
The UK has since banned their use for children - aside from in clinical trials.
Starship endocrinologist Dr Paul Hofman says New Zealand tends to use a human rights based approach, rather than an evidence based approach.
He says while there's some justification for that, he doesn't believe the current system is sustainable - and we need to go back and consult psychologists and those supporting the kids.
