Fire crews are aiming to hit the remains of fire, hard in Otago

Fire crews are aiming to hit the remains of fire, hard in Otago

More than 800 hectares of farmland, tussock and scrub burnt in Waitaki, before crews were able to contain it yesterday afternoon.

Four firefighting crews and two helicopters are back today.

Fire and Emergency Incident Commander Bobby Lamont says tomorrows forecast is warm and windy weather.

He says they're currently experiencing gusts between 60 to 70 kilometres an hour.
