The Institute of Directors says it's working through the judgement on former Port of Auckland CEO Tony Gibson

The Institute of Directors says it's working through the judgement on former Port of Auckland CEO Tony Gibson

Gibson has been found guilty in relation to the death of stevedore Pala'amo Kalati in 2020 under the Health and Safety at Work Act.

The institute says there are obvious implications for executives and potential implications for directors and boards, which will need to be worked through.

Gibson could face a fine of up to 300-thousand dollars but might still appeal the decision.
