Jeff Bridges' ancestral home has been lost to the Los Angeles wildfires

The 'Big Lebowski' actor primarily lives in Santa Barbara with wife Susan Geston, but a four-bedroom house he shares with his siblings in Malibu has been destroyed by the Pacific Palisades blaze, his representative has confirmed.

According to TMZ, the house has been in the Bridges family for generations and was inherited by Jeff, his actor brother Beau Bridges, and sister Lucinda. It is believed the siblings began renting out the property in 2018, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The property was close to Candy Spelling's house, which was also destroyed in the fires, leaving the author - who had bought the property with late husband Aaron Spelling 50 years ago - "in shock".

Candy - who is the mother of actress Tori Spelling and former actor Randy Spelling - told TMZ: "I'm in shock and processing this massive loss for our family.

"I am beyond grateful for the memories. It was truly a wonderful gift to have."

Her best friend, Josh Flagg, added: "I'm devastated. I have so many memories in this house. The house is gone but the memories are not. This is a total shame. This entire fire is a shame. This did not need to be happen."

Other stars to have lost their homes due to the fires - which have claimed the lives of 10 people - include Billy Crystal, Miles Teller, Milo Ventimiglia, Anna Faris, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, and Paris Hilton.

'General Hospital' actor Cameron Mathison - who has Lucas, 21, and Leila, 18, with estranged wife Vanessa Arevalo - emotionally revealed he has "lost everything" in the fires.

He told 'Good Morning America': I can't sleep. I've lost everything I own. I have this hoodie I'm wearing, a pair of pants, and two pairs of sneakers-that's it. But obviously, it's important to focus on what we have and what we can be grateful for."
