Police have revealed more information about the suspect connected to an assault outside Papakura Intermediate School in Auckland

Police have revealed more information about the suspect connected to an assault outside Papakura Intermediate School in Auckland

Emergency services transported a patient to Middlemore Hospital.

The intermediate school, and several others nearby, were temporarily thrust into lockdown as a precaution.

Police say the incident didn't occur on any school grounds and isn't connected to the intermediate.

Shift Commander Kerry Watson says a large police presence is still in the area to catch the suspect.

He says they're believed to be a male, under 35, dressed all in black, and may have a light coloured backpack.
