Transport operators say there's no justification for escalating charges at the Port of Auckland

Transport operators say there's no justification for escalating charges at the Port of Auckland

Peak access charges for trucks entering the Fergusson Container Terminal will increase from 130-dollars to 230 dollars by July next year.

National Road Carriers Chief Executive Justin Tighe-Umbers says operators are fed up.

He's accusing the Auckland Council which owns the port, driving up the cost of living so they can balance their books.
