    MetService has updated its weather warnings for the South Island and issued extra wind watches for Marlborough and Christchurch


    Heavy rain warnings are still in place for Canterbury headwaters and the West Coast ranges, north of Haast until 10pm - the ranges of western Tasman have a heavy rain watch too.

    The strong winds warnings have been lifted from Fiordland and Otago, but are still in place for Canterbury High Country till 9pm and Wairarapa, Wellington and the Tararua District until tomorrow morning.
