Fonterra's announced a 13-percent rise in operating profit

Fonterra's announced a 13-percent rise in operating profit

    Fonterra
    Fonterra
It's confirmed earnings of 71 cents per share, a full year dividend of 57 per share, and the final farmgate milk price for the past season is 10-dollars-16.

The dairy co-op's confident demand for dairy remains strong.

It reckons it has enough size and scale, and sells enough different products in different markets, to withstand volatility.

The big question now - whether farmers will agree to selling off brands like Mainland and Anchor to French giant Lactalis at an upcoming shareholder vote.
