    Former Environment Canterbury Chair Craig Pauling has been selected as the Green Party candidate for the Canterbury Banks Peninsula electorate

    Former Environment Canterbury Chair Craig Pauling has been selected as the Green Party candidate for the Canterbury Banks Peninsula electorate


    The electorate has passed between Labour and National since its creation in 1996.

    It's currently held by National's Vanessa Weenink.

    The Green Party came third in the electorate in 2023.

    Pauling says his two terms at ECan built skills in working through complex freshwater, biodiversity, transport, and climate challenges.
