The father of a teenager murdered by a Dunedin doctor says he will never forgive him for destroying three generations of his family

The father of a teenager murdered by a Dunedin doctor says he will never forgive him for destroying three generations of his family

Amber-Rose Rush was killed by junior doctor Venod Skantha in 2018.

Skantha stabbed the 16-year-old to death after she threatened to expose him for giving young women alcohol, touching them inappropriately, and offering money for sex.

The doctor was convicted of murder and killed himself in prison barely an hour after learning his appeal had been rejected.

The victim's father Shane Rush, says Amber-Rose's grief stricken mother took her own life four months after the murder.

In 2023, Amber-Rose's grandmother also died in a suspected suicide.
