    Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy broke down in tears after discovering a dress and a pair of shoes she wore to a wedding with the late star, just months before his death

    The One Direction singer died in October aged 31 after falling from a balcony at his hotel in Buenos Aires, and this week Kate went through some boxes of items from "the last couple of months and weeks" she spent with Liam


    Kate became emotional as she discovered a yellow dress and a pair of white stilettos, which she wore to the wedding of Madison Donnan and Matthew Kenner in Paris last August.

    The star admitted the outfit brought her "so much peace and comfort", because it reminded her of the special night when she and Liam "danced the night away" at the nuptials.

    Speaking in a TikTok video, Kate said: "I've had these boxes sitting down here in my basement for probably three or four months now.

    "I have just been absolutely dreading opening up these boxes and going through these things, because they're just like the things I had in the last couple of months and weeks with Liam.

    "So I've really been procrastinating opening these boxes and sorting through these boxes and that's what I've been doing for the past hour. Just organising and getting my things together and packing up my stuff.

    "And um... [gets emotional] I open this box - I'm really trying to pull it together right now - and I found this dress.

    "This dress actually brings me so much peace and comfort because the memory that me and Liam had in this dress was a memory I will never forget.

    "We went to this beautiful wedding and it was my very first wedding I've ever attended.

    "Oh my god we just had the best time ... and the best part about this is in another box these shoes, and I remember the next morning and I said to Liam, 'Oh my god look at my shoes, they're so ruined. I don't know what to do with them.' - and when I tell you these shoes were practically almost new before I wore them this night, we just literally danced the night away."

    Kate is "so glad" she didn't chuck the shoes away from that memorable night.

    She added: "We were just dancing all night, walking around this venue, exploring, and I just can't even believe I didn't throw these out. And I'm so glad I didn't.

    "This memory is literally embedded in these shoes."

    Earlier this month, Kate told how she was struggling to "get out of bed" following Liam's death.

    Speaking on UK TV show 'Lorraine', she said: "I've always enjoyed walking. I would consider myself an active person but obviously, now I'm going through this healing journey, sometimes it's hard for me to get out of bed in the morning and it is something that I don't want to do.

    "In a way, I have no choice. I have to get out of bed. A 20-minute walk refreshes my mind, it gets me out of bed and really, really helps my mental health."
