Three men have appeared in court accused of extorting shoppers at a south Auckland supermarket

Five people filed complaints - including a woman who says Pak'n'Save security guards accused her of shoplifting and demanded almost 400-dollars.

A 23-year-old is accused of inducing an indecent act, on top of charges of extortion or obtaining by deception.

A 19-year-old also faces deception and extortion charges.

A 39-year-old man whose lawyer entered a NOT guilty plea to one charge of extortion has a case review in May.

All three have been remanded on bail
