A number of black - do not swim - flags have been issued for Auckland beaches

A number of black - do not swim - flags have been issued for Auckland beaches

Wastewater overflow's been detected, meaning Aucklanders should not take a dip in areas including the Herne Bay bays, Mission Bay, Kohimarama, St Heliers and some North Shore swim spots south of Takapuna.

Others nearby have been deemed high risk, and swimming isn't advised.

A full list of sites can be found on the safeswim.org.nz website.
