NZTA says the Coromandel's State Highway 25 has now fully reopened in time for the weekend - but speed restrictions remain in place

NZTA says the Coromandel's State Highway 25 has now fully reopened in time for the weekend - but speed restrictions remain in place

However, both roads through the Gisborne District remain closed.

State Highway 35 remains closed between Opotiki and south of Te Araroa, and State Highway 2 is closed between Opotiki and Matawai.

Transport Minister Chris Bishop says NZTA's is hoping to get State Highway 2 back open as soon as possible.

The road to Northland's Oakura Bay also remains closed.
