The Green's say today's Budget takes us a step closer to confronting the climate change emergency

The Green's say today's Budget takes us a step closer to confronting the climate change emergency

Co-leader Marama Davidson says the Government's adopting a Green plan - for using revenue from polluting companies to fund transition to lower emissions.

She says the Finance Minister's agreed to ring-fence and recycle the revenue from the emissions trading scheme to fund urgent climate action.

The budget also includes nearly 400-million dollars to develop low-carbon technology and to implement the Carbon Neutral Government Programme.
