Time's up for those abusing the banking system

An internal review by BNZ has found around two thousand transactions a month involve payments with abuse in the reference fields, predominantly swear words.

It found in some cases child support payments were being used to deliver harmful messages.

BNZ General Manager Martin King says there's no longer anywhere to hide.

He says they'll be exposed, and if the abuse continues, they won't be able to bank with the BNZ.
