Bottled water is being handed out to five Canterbury schools after contamination concerns about town water supplies from the floods

Bottled water is being handed out to five Canterbury schools after contamination concerns about town water supplies from the floods

The bottles are being supplied to Windwhistle, Hororata, Glentunnel, Sheffield and Springfield schools by the Selwyn District Council's Civil Defence team.

Civil Defence Controller Al Lawn says they will reduce the stress for families on affected water supplies as their children return to school.

The council has boiled notices for drinking water in Springfield, Arthur's Pass, Malvern Hills, Dalethorpe, Hororata and Acheron .
