A leading epidemiologist says the world shouldn't accept Covid-19 as an ongoing winter infection

New analysis in the BMJ Global Health Journal has found it's possible to eradicate the virus.

It'd be theoretically easier to eliminate than polio, but harder to than smallpox -- based on technical, socio-political and economic factors.

Co-author professor Nick Wilson says Covid eradication in various countries in the Asia Pacific region shows it is achievable.

He says a combination of what the countries have done may make it feasible, but it'll still be challenging.
