Wellington free ambulance's biggest fundraising event is going digital

The street collection for Onesie Day has been cancelled for the second year in a row - again due to Covid-19.

The change has forced the clothing themed fundraiser held in early September, to go online.

Fundraising Director Claire Carruthers says the donations will contribute to buying a new ambulance.

She says on average their front-line vehicles are retired after 350-thousand kilometres, which generally works out to be about three and a half years.
