Bunnings has won a court case -- over claims it offers "guaranteed lowest prices ... and lowest prices are just the beginning"

The Commerce Commission alleged the building and hardware chain's representations in stores, and in advertising campaigns were misleading.

The lowest price guarantee says if customers "find a lower price on the same stocked item" elsewhere, Bunnings would undercut the competitor by 15 per cent.

Auckland District Court Judge Brooke Gibson ruled none of the 45 charges under the Fair Trading Act met the evidential threshold.

He found consumers would be aware the vast stock on sale wouldn't always be the lowest price -- and the company offered remedy when that was the case..
