Police are continuing their investigation into a suspicious blaze of stockpiled tyres in Greymouth

Fire crews spent more than three hours bringing a large fire at Aratuna Freighters under control on Tuesday.

A scene investigation was completed yesterday, but inquiries are ongoing.

Aratuna Freighters general manager Andrew Havill says it's a shame, as he'd been stockpiling the tyres to be shredded for recycling.
