A funding boost for intensive care's being seen as vital, as the traffic light system starts

A funding boost for intensive care's being seen as vital, as the traffic light system starts

The Government's putting 100-million dollars into ICU projects and half a billion towards operational funding, along with 65 million for Waitakere Hospital.

Australia New Zealand Intensive Care Society spokesman, Andrew Stapleton, says Ireland has a similar population, geographic dispersion and vaccination rates to New Zealand, and has had wave upon wave of Covid.

He says it's not overwhelmed like at the beginning of the pandemic, but has more resources than we do.
