    A man accused of shooting at police in Taupo is still on the run

    A man accused of shooting at police in Taupo is still on the run


    His car was stopped by police in Tauhara Forest just after 2 yesterday morning.

    Police say he fired at officers then ran off.

    No one was injured.

    The Armed Offenders Squad and the police Eagle helicopter were used to search for him.

    A gun was found yesterday that may be connected to the incident.

    Police say enquires are ongoing.
