Epsom's MP says locals are worried about lawlessness after an attempted car-jacking this morning
5 December 2022
A 37-year-old allegedly unsuccessfully tried to steal a vehicle at gunpoint in Epsom about 5am.
He then drove to Massey, in another stolen vehicle, then onto the motorway in a third vehicle.
At the Lincoln Road exit he was hit and injured by a police patrol car, as he allegedly threatened other drivers.
ACT's David Seymour says people don't want to wake up to Johannesburg-style holdups.
He says the penalties the Government makes available need to be harsher - three strikes needs to be back and pre-sentencing reports gone.
