    Furry critters are Christchurch's Orana Park Zoo are set to open their Christmas gifts a day early


    Today the park is hosting its annual festive fun day, where the animals are treated to Christmas gifts and treats.

    Orana Wildlife PR manager Nathan Hawke says lions will be given christmas crackers and the spider monkey's will unwrap presents.

    He says it's the animal's favourite time of year.
