A well-known West Coast man has been sentenced to seven years and two months in prison for multiple historic sexual offences

A well-known West Coast man has been sentenced to seven years and two months in prison for multiple historic sexual offences

88-year-old Allan William Walton admitted sexually abusing young boys he met through sports clubs, on charges stretching back to the 1950s.

Police appealed to the public last July for any information about Walton's offending

Detective Senior Sergeant Kirsten Norton says the offending was decades ago, when attitudes were different, but it's important to remind people times have changed.
