Nearly four hundred thousand dollars worth of assets has been taken from a convicted meth smuggler in Christchurch

Sami Zagros was sentenced to 16 years in prison for his role in a drug importation ring late last year.

The court has now ordered the forfeiture of assets from Zagros, including two Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a Ducati Motorbike and nearly 180 thousand dollars in cash.

The money and sale of these items will be put into the Proceeds of Crime Fund, for crime prevention as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation initiatives.
