    Pursuing fleeing drivers may be the way to reduce the number of people trying it on


    Police are now more likely to chase them, following the new Fleeing Driver Framework announced yesterday.

    Road safety and crash investigation expert Hamish Piercy says when there's been limitations on pursuits historically, it results in more people taking risks.

    He says people would drive past the town borders and couldn't be chased, or hide on private property.
