    Kennedy Simon is paying tribute to fellow Black Ferns co-captain Ruahei Demant in the wake of their naming in the King's Birthday honours


    The World Cup-winning duo have been made members of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to rugby.

    Simon was injured for the first four weeks of the tournament and says her favourite memory came when she was set to return to action in the quarterfinal against Wales.



    Last year's coach Sir Wayne Smith has attained a knighthood.
