    Kaikohe woman Linda Woods' funeral will be held today ...as her alleged killer appears in court


    The 71-year-old dialysis patient died in her home on Thursday night.

    A search warrant was carried out at a nearby property yesterday, resulting in the arrest of a 52-year-old man.

    He's facing charges of manslaughter, burglary and aggravated assault, and is due to appear in the Kaikohe District Court today.

    Detective Inspector Rhys Johnston says they're not looking for anyone else.

    He says they hope this arrest will bring some comfort to both Woods' family and the wider community.
