There's still further extensive evidence to be presented before the trial of Lauren Dickason draws to a close

She's on trial at the High Court in Christchurch, accused of murdering her three daughters in Timaru in 2021.

The trial originally set down for two weeks is now in its fourth.

The Herald's Anna Leask says once the expert evidence concludes, the court will hear closing statements, which is believed will happen across one day.

She says there'll then be a lengthy summing up of the whole trial by Justice Cameron Mander and only after that will jury deliberations begin.
