A car rental spokesperson says we need to discuss ways to make sure international drivers understand our road rules

A car rental spokesperson says we need to discuss ways to make sure international drivers understand our road rules

A US tourist has been fined and barred from driving for 15 months, after causing a crash driving on the wrong side of the road last week.

Rental Vehicle Association CEO, Ben McFadgen, says it'll take a law update to bring in GPS tech for monitoring driving.

He says they need to sit down with authorities to discuss if more can be done to keep tourists and kiwis safe on the roads.
