Four people have been arrested after an incident stretching close to 100 kilometres, from Auckland to Northland

Police chased the group from Massey's Akatarawa Street to south of Kaiwaka, after brandishing firearms at a resident around 12:30 early this morning.

They travelled up State Highway 16, and eventually came to a stop after being spiked multiple times.

The group also threw out several boxes, bags and other items from their vehicle around Moir Hill.
