    A cruel start to the Crusaders career of Wales centurion Leigh Halfpenny


    The 35-year-old requires surgery on a pectoral muscle after coming off injured early in Sunday's preseason loss to Munster at Cork

    The fullback will go under the knife in the coming days in the UK before re-joining the Crusaders in Christchurch.

    Assistant coach Tamati Ellison's confident Halfpenny will add value from the sidelines.



    Willi Heinz will captain the Crusaders in the final match of their Northern tour against Bristol on Saturday.
