A guilty plea from a Wellington rugby player, accused of killing a young mother in a hit and run

Cass Maguire was killed after being hit near Te Papa last June.

Jason Tuitama, who has been a member of the Wellington NPC training squad, had a breath-alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit.

He appeared in the High Court in Wellington this morning and pleaded guilty to manslaughter, reckless driving causing injury, failing to stop to ascertain injury, and driving with excess breath alcohol.

He will remain on bail until sentencing.
