China looks to be the biggest player in a drop for red meat exports

New Meat Industry Association data, show exports dropped eight-percent to 759-million-dollars in January -- its lowest January result since 2019.

While UK and US exports were both up, Chinese exports were down 21 percent year on year in both volume and value.

Strategy and Advocacy Manager Jason Krupp says when China struggles, that weighs on our overall export performance.

He says China is grappling with moving out of Covid restrictions, but equally there's been heightened market competition as countries like Brazil ramp up production.
