The man responsible for brutally killing two Christchurch teens by driving into a crowd outside a party, is thought to be a long way off a release from prison

In 2007, then 22-year-old, Lipine Sila killed Hannah Rossiter and Jane Young, both 16 -- and grievously injured eight other teens, at an Edgeware Road party.

At his first Parole Board hearing yesterday, Sila's involvement in nearly 100 incidents behind bars, including an assault on a guard three months ago, was outlined.

He's completed little rehabilitation work -- and is in maximum security.

Sila's parole will be reviewed in May 2026
