The Green Party is slamming the Budget for what it sees as a lack of investment in climate action

The Green Party is slamming the Budget for what it sees as a lack of investment in climate action

Climate Change Minister Simon Watts says the Budget will invest in preparing the country for severe weather.

Some projects which would've been funded by the climate emergency response fund will continue with new initiatives, including a public rollout of EV charging infrastructure, and a fund to decarbonise the public transit fleet.

The Government is putting forward a 200-million dollar boost for the Rail Network Improvement Programme.

Green Party co-leader Chloe Swarbrick is slamming the tax cuts - saying the Government had a choice to confront the climate crisis today.

She suggests so-called trickle down tax cuts are contempt for people and planet.
