Napier Police have lifted cordons after an operation in Maraenui, during which they asked people to avoid the area

The operation began just before 5 this afternoon, following reports of a small group of people fighting in the street.
Police were told a firearm was involved, but so far have been unable to substantiate that.
Enquiries are on-going, and there is no threat to public safety.
