A survey lays bare parents' expectation of quality education for all children

A survey lays bare parents' expectation of quality education for all children

The early childhood education survey, by union NZEI, includes parents for the first time.

It highlights concerns from parents and teachers - and 71 percent of respondents don't think the sector is heading in the right direction.

National Executive representative and kindergarten teacher Virginia Oakly says the response from parents is overwhelming.

She says they want a high quality early childhood education workforce with 100 percent qualified teachers.
