France's World Cup-winning football manager Didier Deschamps will step down after next year's tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico

France's World Cup-winning football manager Didier Deschamps will step down after next year's tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico

The 56-year-old is the country's longest-serving gaffer, having been in charge since 2012.

He led France to victory at the 2018 global showpiece in Russia.

The former midfielder is one of three men after Mario Zagallo and Franz Beckenbauer to win the World Cup as a player and manager.
