    A large scrap yard fire in Auckland's Otara has now been contained


    Emergency services were called to a commercial premises between Birmingham and Preston Roads just after six this morning - as black smoke reportedly billowed near the Southern Motorway.

    Multiple cars were alight in the 30 by 15 metre fire.

    At its peak, over 15 trucks and support vehicles were on site.
