Fonterra dairy farmers now appear to be weeks away from a major pay day

    Fonterra
    Fonterra
The dairy co-op's now got all the regulatory approvals it needs, to push ahead with the it's sale of Mainland Group - including Mainland and Anchor - to French company Lactalis for 4.22 billion dollars.

Fonterra's revealed it expects the record date to be eligible for the capital return to be April 9.

It expects the payment date to be April 14.

But it won't be able to confirm either date until the transaction's completed, most likely before the end of this month.
