The path to the All Blacks success may also be a hindrance to the game of rugby

The path to the All Blacks success may also be a hindrance to the game of rugby

The latest New Zealand Rugby statistics show the number of 13 to 20 year old men has dropped by four percent each of the last two years.

NZR's Head of Participation Steve Lancaster says first XV rugby is thriving at the moment, but its cut throat nature could be impacting players decisions to continue playing rugby.

Steve Lancaster says NZR is currently undergoing a review to figure out ways to keep the players who give up on becoming professional, in the game.
