Selena Gomez believes in God - but she's "not religious"

The 28-year-old star considers herself to be a "very, very spiritual" person but she doesn't like to talk about her faith too much because it's "gotten a bad rep"

She shared: "I’m very, very spiritual. I believe in God, but I’m not religious.

"I’ve been a Christian for a while now. I don’t talk about it too much - I want to, but it’s gotten a bad rep. I just want to make it clear that I love being able to have my faith, and believe in what I believe in, and that truly is what gets me through."

Selena appreciates the support of her family, but admits that fame has changed her life in a dramatic fashion.

In fact, the singer often questions the intentions and the sincerity of the people she meets.

She told Vogue magazine: "They were there before any of it. They loved me for me, and they still do. I can’t say that I have that anymore. I can’t meet someone and know if they like me for me."

The brunette beauty - who has previously dated the likes of Justin Bieber and The Weeknd - wants to be loved like she's "brand-new".

She said: "To be honest, I just want to start over. I want everything to be brand-new. I want someone to love me like I’m brand-new."

Selena is now one of the world's most talked-about music and film stars.

But the 'Lose You to Love Me' hitmaker still feels a bit haunted by her early success on the Disney Channel.

She explained: "I still live with this haunting feeling that people still view me as this Disney girl."
