    A Mayor Relief Fund setup after Papatoetoe's devastating tornado, has closed


    The twister tore through the area back in June.

    Close to 300-thousand dollars has been allocated to those impacted.

    Just 12 of 90 submissions have been rejected.

    Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board chair Apulu Reece Autagavaia says locals are slowly moving on.

    He says it's seen all over the country when a disaster occurs, that communities band together.
