    One person's been taken to hospital with critical injuries after the car they were driving, hit a tree in south Auckland


    It happened near the intersection of Bader Drive and McKenzie Road at Mangere Bridge just before 3.30am.

    Police say the driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, has been taken to Middlemore Hospital.

    The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
