Looser Alert level 2 restrictions could be on the cards for the South Island

Looser Alert level 2 restrictions could be on the cards for the South Island

Cabinet is deciding after nearly five weeks whether to shift Auckland out of level 4, and the rest of the country back to less restrictive level 2 settings.

The Prime Minister announced they'll consider lifting a 50-patron limit on hospitality venues ... to 100.

Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Leeann Watson says increasing the limits is a good start.

But she says the Government should be giving out clear signals on what it will take to get areas untouched by Covid, back down to level 1.
