More financial support for struggling businesses, from next week

More financial support for struggling businesses, from next week

But the Government's raised the entry barrier - in a bid to target the hardest-hit sectors like hospitality and events.

Businesses must prove they've seen a 40 percent drop in revenue in the six-weeks before February 15.

Finance Minister Grant Robertson says it's similar to the Resurgence Payment.

He says the Covid Support Payment will be four-thousand dollars for each business, and 400-dollars fortnightly for each full-time employee, capped at 24-thousand dollars.

The cash will be dished out over a six-week period.
